Safety

Getting into a stranger's car should not feel like a risk.

So the driver has to say yes to you before you are in the car, a person on our team reads every driver's CNIC and licence, and you choose where you get out. This page is what we actually do, and nothing else.

Nobody gets in without the driver's yes

Every seat is a request. The driver sees who is asking, and where they want to get on and off, and then approves or declines it. There is no way to quietly join somebody's car.

The seat is only taken off the count inside that approval, under a lock, so two people cannot end up holding the same one. That rule is enforced in the database, not in the app.

Every driver's CNIC and licence is read by a person

A driver uploads their CNIC — the number and a photograph of the card — and their driving licence. Somebody on our team reads both.

There is no selfie, no face match and no automated check against a government database. What it gives you is a named person with a licence, looked at by a human being, and we are not going to call it more than that.

  1. 1 CNIC uploaded The number, and a photograph of the card.
  2. 2 Licence uploaded The driving licence, number and photograph.
  3. 3 Read by a person Our team, not an algorithm.

You choose where you get out

You pick your own drop-off point when you request the seat, anywhere along the driver's route, and the driver's final stop is stated up front so you know where the ride ends. You are not put out wherever suits the driver.

At the end, both sides confirm the drop-off happened. If it did not, you raise a dispute instead, and a person reads it.

Cash, in the car

There is no wallet to top up, no card to add and no payment gateway anywhere in the app. You hand over your share at the end of the ride.

That is deliberate. There are no card details of yours for us to lose, and nothing sitting in an account for anybody to take.

If something goes wrong

There is no support desk in the app yet, and we are not going to put a button on this page that reaches nobody. This is what there actually is.

At the end of a ride

Both sides confirm the drop-off. If the ride did not end the way it should have, raise a dispute instead of confirming, and a person reads it.

Anything else

Email [email protected] with the date, the route and what happened. It is a real address and a person reads it.

In an emergency

Call the police on 15. We are an email address, not an emergency service, and it would be worse than useless to tell you otherwise.

Questions people ask

  • Is the driver checked?

Yes, and by a person. A driver uploads their CNIC and their driving licence, and somebody on our team reads both before the account is approved. There is no selfie, no face match and no automated check against a government database. What it gives you is a named person with a licence, looked at by a human being, and we are not going to call it more than that.

  • What if I do not know the person?

You will not, usually. What you do know is this: a person on our team has read that driver's CNIC and licence, the driver has looked at your request and said yes to you specifically, you picked your own drop-off point before the ride started, and you pay in cash at the end. There is no card of yours anywhere in this.

  • How is the fare decided?

It is not a fare. What the trip costs to run is divided by the number of people in the car. There is no surge pricing, and we take no commission on the ride. You see your share before you request the seat.

  • Do I pay in cash?

Yes, in the car. There is no wallet to top up and no card to add.

  • Can I get off before the last stop?

Yes. You choose your own drop-off point anywhere along the driver's route when you request the seat, and the driver's final stop is stated up front so you know where the ride ends.

  • What happens if I need to cancel?

You cancel, and it costs you nothing. There is no cancellation fee, because there is no payment in the app to take one from. Tell the driver as early as you can, so the seat can go to somebody else.

  • What happens if the driver cancels?

You are told straight away and the seat is released, so you can look for another ride on the same corridor.

The next tank costs the same. Your share of it does not have to.

CarsPool.pk is where the matching happens. Put in your route once, and the app shows you who is already driving it.
